SAP Installation Server LSH Self-Extracting Package Problems

$

0

Greetings,

I am currently wroking on a self-service packaged download on my companies intranet to update our employees SAPGUI's to 7.30 from past versions.  We want our customers to be able to go to our web link, download the package and then install it at their leisure instead of pushing out the update to everyone automatically.  The problem that we have is when we try to install the package remotely from a non-administrator computer we get this NwSapSetup error:

          NwSapSetup was not able to grant you administrator rights, either because

          - the distribution service didn't respond,

          - the installation service couldn't be started or

          - the logon credentials for the installation service are incorrect.

          Please contact your system administrator.

We know that our LSH (Local Security Handling) is properly setup since we are able to download and install the package on the same non-administrator computer by the command line.  However command-line installation is not how we want to push out this update since we have users all over the US/World and for them to connect to our Installation Server and download takes 30+ minutes instead of the 3-4 minutes locally.

Looking through every post on SCN and around internet we have done all suggestions mentioned: reconfigured LSH multiple times, repackaged SAPGUI, stop/started LSH services and patched the Installation Server to 9.0.37.0.

Any feedback or suggestions will help us on our quest to solve our main problem of our installation package not being able to self-install on a non-administrator computer.

Thank you,

Kyle

Dear Community and Colleagues,

I hopeyoucan assistmewith the followingProblem/Question:

What are theoptimal installing and configuration options for SAPGUI for Windows7.30?

I know that it doesn`t give the “optimal” configuration because of too many influences differentiating from company to company.

Whatexperiencedid you made by installing and configuring SAP GUI 7.30?

Do you make a differencein your company using SAP GUI 7.30 between end users, customizers, developersoradministrators?

I am interested in helpful discussions, an interestingexchange of information as well as getting tips of experienced colleagues.

Thank youfor your support.

Hello,

I am running a custom report in Personas which allows the user to upload a file from his or her desktop. When I execute the program I get the "session has timed out - please log in again" popup.

I debugged in se38 and found that the error comes when the program tries to execute the CONTROL_FLUSH Function Module.

Any ideas would be highly appreciated!

Upgrade from SAP GUI 7.20 to 7.30 on clients with new installation server

$

Hi all

We want to upgrade from SAP GUI 7.20 to SAP GUI 7.30 (some of them are already 7.30 SP 0) soon but I have the following problem:

On many (200+) of our clients SAP GUI wasn't installed from an installation server but from a local source. Therefore I created a .reg file which changes the source in the registry as follows:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP\SAP Shared]

"SapCreateKey"=dword:00000000

"SAPSetupDir"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\SAP\\SAPsetup"

"SAPsourcedir"="\\\\<netshare>\\InstServer"

"SAPDestDir"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\SAP\\FrontEnd"

"SAPsysdir"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\SAP\\FrontEnd\\SapGui"

When I now start the GUI on a client (Windows 7, SAP GUI 7.30 SP 0) and try to get an upgrade notification from the server (open it max. 10 times), nothing happens. I first though this is caused by the missing share so I created a .bat to get a share with "net use":

net use \\<netshare>\InstServer

Windows says the command was executed successful but the update notification still doesn't show up.

Anything else I have forgotten? Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Installation of Automatic Workstation Update on Win7 64bit fails

dear colleques,

i attempt to install SAP Gui from an installation server to a win7 64 bit client. At first I made a new package which contained SAPGui + Logonpad + ECL Viewer + Automatic Workstation Update. After starting SapGuiSetup an choosing the predefined package the installation screen just vanished. After some try and error runs it seems the installation process terminates every time i try to install a package which contains the Automatic Workstation Update product. There are some error messages in the installation log:

Personas: Screen mash-up

I want to know if anyone has an idea or done anything something similar.

(1) For a given SAP Transaction, I want to group input elements from different screens into one single screen then save. For example, for VA01, I want to put order type, sales area data from first screen and Sold-to, Ship-to from second screen into one single screen and create sales order from here.

(2). On  a same screen I have multiple tabs. I want to copy few elements from different tabs and put them together into a single group. Problem i have here is, UI elements from that tab are displayed only when that particular tab is selected.

I appreciate your inputs. Thanks.

SAP GUI 7.30 SP05 History Not Working

Hi there,

I have recently upgraded to SAP GUI 7.30 SP05 and the only problem I have found is that the immediate history is not working. It was previously working in 7.20, but since the upgrade it no longer works.

I am using Windows 7 Pro x64. I have tried to clear the history, but it still doesn't work. I have searched OSS notes but not found anything that has helped...

Note that I have already checked the following setting:

SAP Persona flavors to flavors mapping

$

Hi Persona Experts,

As we know we can have multiple flavors possible for a particular transaction code.

I have below listed scenarios.

SAP Transaction 1(T1)      -> 3 Flavor  (T1.Flavor 1 ,T1.Flavor 2, T1,Flavor 3)

SAP Transaction 2(T2)      -> 3 Flavor (T2.Flavor 1 ,T2.Flavor 2, T2,Flavor 3)

SAP Transaction 3(T3)      -> 3 Flavor (T3.Flavor 1 ,T3.Flavor 2, T3,Flavor 3)

I would like to implement below sequence..

T1.Flavor 1 -> T2.Flavor 1 -> T3.Flavor 1  (as Default Flavor)

T1.Flavor 2 -> T2.Flavor 2 -> T3.Flavor 2  (as Default Flavor)

T1.Flavor 3 -> T2.Flavor 3 -> T3.Flavor 3  (as Default Flavor)

Currently we can have only 1 default flavor possible for single Transaction, so it will be easy to get only 1 of above scenarios realize using set default flavor options.

How can we achieve above scenarios... depending on current flavor ->>select next flavor linking/Mapping dynamically

Please let us know is it possible? How?

Rakesh Mourya.

Server configuration file for SAP GUI 7.30 doesn't work on Citrix XenApp

$

Hi all

We upgraded from SAP GUI 7.20 to SAP GUI 7.30 and within this upgrade we also upgraded our ctrix server farm. Unfortunately when a user opens SAP Logon within XenApp, the following error occurs:

sap_citrix.png

"I'll try to translate: SAP Logon could not be started correctly.

Error while loading local configuration files:
Name of tree structure file http://<server>/SapLogonTree.xml invalid."

The server configuration file works well on normal clients. Also the file works well if I log in via administration console on the citrix server. I deleted registry entry HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP\SAPLogon\Options\ConfigFileOnServer (was set with installation/upgrade from installation server) and HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP\SAP Shared\SAPsourcedir but still the error occurs.

I also tried to put a local saplogon.ini in C:\Users\Default User\AppData\Roaming\SAP\Common but it doesn't work either.

Does anyone have a hint to solve this problem? Any help will be appreciated.

Kind regards

Jann

SAP Screen Personas – issue with tab caching

$

Hello,

I have created a flavor for transaction MIRO with tab merging (which is a great functionality). I have merged the tabs “Detail” and “Payment” into “Basic data”.

I came across the issue when I accidentally started my flavor with an information message coming up – “Allowed posting period…”. Normally this message just appears once. Within my flavor I had to confirm it many times (after about 100 clicks I canceled it). In the background I could see the screen switching into the hidden tabs “Detail” and “Payment” and back to the main screen “Basic data”.

During the analysis I have created a new flavor for MIRO and start tab caching the message just appears once.  So it seems that the issue is related to the changes I made to the first flavor.

Did anybody have similar experiences? Is there a way to avoid this?

We are running SAP Screen Personas 1 with the new SP 2 and the kernel has patch level 128.

Kind Regards,

Steffen

SAP GUI for Java 7.30 Rev 3 - SNC SSO on Mac OSX

I'm having a similar issue as what was discussed in thread SAP GUI for Java 7.20 rev 8 - SNC SSO however now with Oracle JDK 7 now available in 32-bit and this version requiring Oracle JDK 7 it is not possible to use the same solution to run it in 32-bit mode.

I've set the SNC_LIB to: /usr/lib/libgssapi_krb5.dylib

I know this worked with 7.30 rev 2, but then I was using Java 6 and running in 32-bit mode.

GUI 7.30rev3 for OS X has no sncgss.dyld

$

I am evaluating SAP GUI 7.30rev3 for OS X for deployment in our environment, and appear to have run into a critical problem.

I am testing on a machine with OS X 10.8.3, with the JDK 7u40 early access java runtime.

Our site uses SNC with GSS-API/Kerberos for authentication, but the 7.30rev3 installer does not provide a SNC GSS library, named sncgss.dyld or otherwise, so upon an attempt to connect, SncPDLInit() errors out with 'Unable to load GSS-API dyld Shared Library named "sncgss.dyld"'.  The previous release we have deployed, 7.20rev4, does provide a sncgss.dyld library in the application bundle's Contents/Resources/bin/ directory.  However, the sncgss.dyld library in the 7.20 release is 32-bit only (for intel processors), and the 7.30 release is 64-bit only.  The workaround given in http://scn.sap.com/thread/1851956 to run in 32-bit mode therefore no longer applies.

That thread is almost 3 years old, now, and the other threads I could find about SNC and GSS libraries are as old or older.  http://scn.sap.com/thread/2011188 makes the interesting claim that setting SNC_LIB to /usr/lib/libgssapi_krb5.dylib is an effective workaround in the poster's environment of SAP 7.20rev5 and OS X Lion, but this has not brought me success.  Using SNC_LIB to cause SAP to use several different libgssapi_krb5 shared libraries from different versions of OS X, or even from a locally-compiled version of MIT krb5 (the system library is derived from the Heimdal kerberos distribution), only results in a segfault at runtime.  This is not surprising, given that the sncgss.dyld from 7.20rev4 only exports symbols with an sap prefix, such as sapgss_init_sec_context.  The interface for these routines is not documented, and even if an external gssapi library did provide the same interfaces, the dlopen()/dlsym() approach used by the SAP GUI would be unable to use an external gssapi library that did not provide symbols with the sap prefix.

The thread in http://scn.sap.com/thread/1851956 includes a link to a (now-defunct) ftp site where a sncgssk5.dyld could be downloaded, but I believe that the libraries available there would only have been 32-bit anyway.

I have therefore come to the conclusion that the SAP GUI 7.30rev3 for OS X is simply not usable with SNC/GSS/Kerberos unless SAP supplies a library that provides the sncgss interface.  I would be delighted if this conclusion was incorrect, and would appreciate additional (hopefully authoritative) information on the subject.  Perhaps there are plans to supply such a library in a future update?

ActiveX Component SAP.Functions with Export Parameter Table of Structure

Hello community,

I use a VBA program to connect to an SAP system and to execute a FM. The function module has the following interface:

*"----------------------------------------------------------------------
*"*"Local interface:
*"  IMPORTING
*"     VALUE(I_RNG_ZSNR) TYPE  /GKV/BP01_TAB_RNG_ZSNR
*"  EXPORTING
*"     VALUE(E_TAB_FKZS) TYPE  /GKV/BP01_TAB_D_FKZS
*"----------------------------------------------------------------------

The importing parameter is a table of a structure:

Unbenannt1.JPG

Unbenannt2.JPG

What is the correct way to set the export parameter I_RNG_ZSNR?

Here my VBA code:

Option Explicit

Sub Test()

  Dim Func As SAPFunctions
  Dim Conn As SAPLogonCtrl.Connection
  Dim f As SAPFunctionsOCX.Function
  Dim X As Object
  Dim row As Object
  Dim Ret As Long

  Set Func = CreateObject("SAP.Functions.Unicode")
  If IsObject(Func) Then
    Set Conn = Func.Connection

    Conn.Client = "001"
    Conn.User = "BCUSER"
    Conn.Language = "EN"
    Conn.HostName = "NSP"
    Conn.SystemNumber = 0

    If Not Conn.Logon(0, False) Then
      Debug.Print "Connection not successful"
    Else
      Debug.Print "Connection successful"

      Set f = Func.Add("/GKV/BP01_K_FKZS_MASS_READ")
      If IsObject(f) Then

        Set X = f.Exports("I_RNG_ZSNR")

        Set row = X.AppendRow
        'Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
        'It not seems to be a table
        row.Cell(1, "SIGN") = "I"
        row.Cell(1, "OPTION") = "EQ"
        row.Cell(1, "LOW") = "10600035"

        Ret = f.Call

      End If

      Conn.Logoff
    End If

    Set Func = Nothing
  End If

End Sub

With COMConnector (CCo) it works perfect:

Option Explicit

Sub CCoTest()

  '-Variables-----------------------------------------------------------
    Dim SAP As CCo.COMNWRFC
    Dim hRFC As Long
    Dim rc As Integer
    Dim hFunc As Long
    Dim hFuncDesc As Long
    Dim hTable As Long
    Dim hRow As Long
    Dim hExpTable As Long
    Dim i, RowCount As Long
    Dim charBuffer As String

  Set SAP = CreateObject("COMNWRFC")
  If IsObject(SAP) Then

    hRFC = SAP.RFCOPENCONNECTION("ASHOST=NSP, SYSNR=00, " & _
      "CLIENT=001, USER=BCUSER")
    If hRFC Then

      hFuncDesc = SAP.RFCGETFUNCTIONDESC(hRFC, "/GKV/BP01_K_FKZS_MASS_READ")
      If hFuncDesc Then
        hFunc = SAP.RFCCREATEFUNCTION(hFuncDesc)
        If hFunc Then
          SAP.RFCGETTABLE hFunc, "I_RNG_ZSNR", hTable
          If hTable Then
            hRow = SAP.RFCAPPENDNEWROW(hTable)
            SAP.RFCSETCHARS hRow, "SIGN", "I"
            SAP.RFCSETCHARS hRow, "OPTION", "EQ"
            SAP.RFCSETCHARS hRow, "LOW", "10600035"
            If SAP.RFCINVOKE(hRFC, hFunc) = RFC_OK Then
              SAP.RFCGETTABLE hFunc, "E_TAB_FKZS", hExpTable
              If hExpTable Then
                SAP.RFCGETROWCOUNT hExpTable, RowCount
                SAP.RFCMOVETOFIRSTROW hExpTable
                For i = 1 To RowCount
                  hRow = SAP.RFCGETCURRENTROW(hExpTable)
                  charBuffer = Space(512)
                  SAP.RFCGETCHARS hRow, "NAME1", charBuffer, 512
                  Debug.Print charBuffer
                  If i < RowCount Then
                     SAP.RFCMOVETONEXTROW hExpTable
                  End If
                Next
              End If
            End If
          End If
          rc = SAP.RFCDESTROYFUNCTION(hFunc)
        End If
      End If
      rc = SAP.RFCCLOSECONNECTION(hRFC)
    End If
    Set SAP = Nothing

  End If

End Sub

How can I set the export parameter with SAP ActiveX control?

Thanks for tips and hints.

Cheers

Mass Delete not working in 7.3 gui

$

In MD62 specifically, but may occur in other transactions, the user is using ctrl y to select columns and/or rows and then hitting the delete key. In 7.1 version this would work, in 7.3 version, it does nothing.  If the user selects only one field however, the delete key will clear the field.  What has changed and how do we restore this functionality?
